25 Years of Building: Jim Murphy Reflects on Invenergy's Growth

After 25 years of building energy and infrastructure projects, Invenergy Co-Founder and CEO Jim Murphy believes the most important lessons have little to do with any single technology or market trend. Instead, they center on the fundamentals: earning trust, delivering results and solving complex challenges through strong partnerships and execution.
Since its founding in 2001, Invenergy has developed more than 225 projects representing nearly 40 gigawatts of generation and infrastructure capacity. While technologies, markets, and customer needs have evolved, Murphy emphasized that strong relationships remain central to the company's success just recently at the Reuters Global Energy Forum. Relationships with customers, suppliers, investors and communities help create the trust needed to navigate challenges and deliver projects over the long term, Murphy said.
Murphy also highlighted execution as a key differentiator, describing strong execution as an "underpriced asset" in today's marketplace. Throughout its history, Invenergy has taken on complex challenges across generation, transmission, manufacturing and infrastructure, relying on technical expertise and innovation to turn ideas into results.
