Project will help I&M meet rapidly rising energy demand 

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) has made a filing with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) requesting approval of a certificate of public convenience and necessity (CPCN) to acquire the Sycamore Riverside Energy Center, a planned 918 megawatt (MW) natural gas combustion turbine generation facility to be built in Sullivan County, Indiana.

I&M anticipates a decision from the IURC on the filing by the end of 2026. If the CPCN request is approved within the anticipated timeframe, I&M is expected to take ownership of the facility in March of 2029 once construction and commissioning are complete. The site is adjacent to I&M’s retired Breed Generation Facility. I&M has a long and positive history of collaboration with the community and looks forward to reinvesting in the area.

The proposal to acquire Sycamore Riverside is a component of I&M’s 

 plan, which details the resources needed to provide I&M customers with reliable and affordable energy today and into the future. The cost of the project will not impact I&M’s ability to request a reduction in base rates as well as a multi-year freeze of non-fuel rates for Indiana customers.

The acquisition is necessary to meet increased energy and capacity demand and the filing contains additional information on future operating plans, fuel supply strategy, status of major equipment purchases and affordability considerations. Through the CPCN process, the IURC will evaluate whether the acquisition is reasonable and in the public’s interest.

The project is being developed by Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held independent power producer and energy infrastructure innovator. Sycamore Riverside Energy Center will be Invenergy’s third project in Sullivan County.

These next-generation AI factories will harness the new 

, which includes the DSX Flex software library for connecting AI factories to power-grid services.

For accelerated deployment, the factories can use co-located energy generation and storage as bridge power for hybrid AI factories, then later harness these resources to flexibly supply the grid, accelerate AI factory interconnection and support the broader power system. This approach helps bring AI capacity online faster while creating broader value for customers and communities.

The DSX reference architecture can also support flexible AI factories without co-located energy resources to achieve larger and faster power grid connections.

Emerald AI’s Conductor platform will orchestrate computational flexibility alongside onsite generation, batteries and other behind-the-meter resources to deliver precise, grid-responsive power flexibility while ensuring quality of service for AI compute tenants. This coordination helps operators meet power targets, protect priority workloads, shorten time on bridge power, and support larger and faster interconnections. It can also help reduce the need for infrastructure to be sized around peaks, easing pressure on future system costs.

Building AI Factories That Strengthen the Grid

Today’s electric systems are built to serve peak demand but are underutilized during most hours of the day. Power-flexible AI factories can help unlock up to 

 across the U.S. power system by combining optimized infrastructure design with efficient use of existing assets and, where needed, new-build generation, while flexing during limited periods of grid stress to reduce the need for broader grid expansion to support reliability.

AI factories convert electricity into AI tokens, models and intelligence — among the highest-value outputs modern infrastructure can produce. Meeting that opportunity will require innovation in computing as well as in how companies plan, build and operate energy infrastructure.

Many gigawatt-scale AI projects are turning to co-located generation and storage because conventional interconnection timelines can be too slow for the pace of AI investment. However, permanently isolating generation and storage from the grid has drawbacks. It can leave assets underutilized, raise long-term cost per AI token and prevent energy resources from supporting grid reliability.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. & CHICAGO--Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held developer, owner and operator of independent power infrastructure, and HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (“HASI”) (NYSE: HASI), a leading investor in sustainable infrastructure assets, today announced the closing of a strategic equity partnership supporting a 2.7-gigawatt portfolio of select Invenergy projects across the United States, including utility-scale solar, solar-plus-battery storage, and wind projects.

Invenergy will retain control and majority ownership and continue to lead day-to-day operations of the projects. The partnership builds on the companies’ longstanding relationship, supports Invenergy’s continued growth, and reflects growing demand for large-scale, contracted clean energy and storage assets.

The portfolio comprises 10 projects totaling 2.7 GW across six major U.S. power markets and seven states: Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio, and New York. More than 850 MW are currently operating, with the remaining projects expected to come online by the first quarter of 2027. HASI will fund each project as it reaches commercial operation. All projects are backed by long-term agreements with investment-grade offtakers, including corporate, utility, and public-sector entities.

CIBC Capital Markets acted as advisor to Invenergy for this transaction. Sidley Austin LLP served as legal counsel to Invenergy, and Baker McKenzie served as legal counsel to HASI in connection with the transaction.

Invenergy and HASI Expand Partnership to Support 2.7 GW Portfolio of Solar, Solar-Plus-Storage, and Wind Projects Across the U.S.

Invenergy commemorated the milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony that included a $20,000 donation to the 

 program that will support over 600 local families in need

, North America’s largest privately held independent power producer, and Grant County Public Utility District (Grant PUD) celebrated the groundbreaking of the Quincy Solar Energy Center on August 18, 2026. The 120-megawatt (MW) project milestone marks Grant PUD's first solar project in Grant County and Invenergy's first solar project in Washington state to break ground. Once operational, the project will provide clean, reliable solar energy to the local grid and generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 25,000 Washington homes.

The event was held at the project site, located near Moses Lake, Washington, and featured a $20,000 donation presentation from Invenergy to the 

 program that will support over 600 local families in need. This neighbor-to-neighbor program helps families and individuals in need pay their electric bills.

Following remarks from project stakeholders, a ceremonial gold shovel dig highlighted the construction progress already underway at the Quincy Solar site. Attendees included Grant PUD commissioners, executives, and staff; Washington State Senator Judy Warnick; Washington State Representative Alex Ybarra; leaders from IBEW Local 191, IUOE Local 302, and LiUNA Local 348; representatives from Cupertino Electric, the project's engineering and construction contractor; and Invenergy project team members.

Quincy Solar will support more than 200 jobs at peak construction, boosting local businesses in the area. In addition to powering the local grid, Quincy Solar is expected to contribute more than $27 million to the local economy through land lease payments, local taxes, and other expenditures over the life of the project.

The project is expected to reach commercial operations in late 2027. Quincy Solar builds on Invenergy's growing presence in Washington, where the company has now successfully developed four energy projects totaling more than 950 megawatts of generation capacity. Across the state, Invenergy projects contribute over $12.1 million annually through local taxes, landowner payments, wages, and other economic benefits. Invenergy Invested Over $500 Million in American Communities Last Year

PATASKALA, OHIO (April 30, 2026) – Illuminate USA, an affiliate of Invenergy, has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Art Fletcher as the company’s next CEO. Fletcher succeeds former CEO Frank Zhu and brings nearly two decades of senior leadership experience from Illuminate USA’s parent company, Invenergy. Fletcher previously served on Illuminate USA’s Board and will remain on the Board as part of his new role.

Illuminate USA Announces New CEO Art Fletcher

SRP and Invenergy Announce First Agreement on Solar and Storage Project to Help Meet Valley Energy Demand

Salt River Project (SRP), a not-for-profit public power utility serving the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, and Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held independent power producer and energy infrastructure developer, today announced an agreement to add 200 megawatts (MW) of solar energy and 200 MW of 4-hour battery storage to the Valley’s grid. This agreement marks the first partnership between SRP and Invenergy.

Located in Pinal County, the SunDog Energy Center will provide enough capacity to power up to 45,000 Valley homes. SRP is working to more than double the capacity of its power system in the next 10 years to meet increasing energy demand in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Drawing from a variety of energy technologies, Invenergy’s projects are helping the state meet that growing demand.

“Adding solar and storage resources is part of SRP’s all-of-the-above strategy to meet our customer’s growing energy needs with reliable, affordable and sustainable power,” 

said Bobby Olsen, SRP Associate General Manager and Chief Power System Executive.

SRP has more than 3,000 MW of carbon-free resources currently serving its customers, including 1,455 MW of solar and more than 1,100 MW of battery storage supporting its grid. SRP also has significantly more solar energy and storage capacity under development.

“From the start, SRP has been clear about what it needs to serve its customers, and we’re able to bring the right energy mix as they plan for growth,”

 said Ted Romaine, Invenergy’s Executive Vice President for Origination.

 “As energy demand continues to grow in Arizona and across the country, hybrid projects like SunDog help strengthen the grid and give utility customers reliable, affordable energy solutions they can trust.”

SunDog will be Invenergy’s 17th facility in Arizona, and first operational site in Pinal County. The project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to Pinal County. These include more than $209 million in local tax revenue, land costs and lease payments. The project will also support anywhere between 200 and 400 jobs during peak construction. 

Invenergy has been an active member of Pinal County since 2018, supporting organizations and initiatives including the United Way of Pinal County, Pinal Partnership and the Local Emergency Planning Committee. 

Statewide, Invenergy’s portfolio of operational and under construction facilities totals 545 MW of solar power and 736 MW of energy storage to the Arizona grid, helping ensure Arizonans have reliable electricity when they need it most. Invenergy’s projects invest over $2.2 million into Arizona communities every year.

SRP is a community-based, not-for-profit public power utility and the largest electricity provider in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, serving over 2 million customers. New pipeline to help Invenergy meet skyrocketing power demand across Arizona

 -- Invenergy, North America’s largest privately held independent power producer and energy infrastructure innovator, today announced it has signed a precedent agreement with a subsidiary of Tallgrass to be the anchor shipper on the associated natural gas infrastructure to support Invenergy’s plans to develop as many as three new natural gas-fired power plants in Arizona’s Maricopa and Yuma Counties.

“For 25 years—including 10 in Arizona—Invenergy has partnered with communities to deliver a mix of energy solutions and shared value for the local economy. As electricity demand grows, it's even more clear that natural gas is critical to keeping energy affordable and reliable, and our agreement with Tallgrass to procure long-term gas supply is proof of our commitment to Arizona, our customers, and the local communities we support,”

 said Daniel Runyan, Invenergy’s Senior Vice President for Development. 

Electricity demand in Arizona is set to grow more than 40 percent by 2031 due to population growth, new manufacturing, data centers, electrification and artificial intelligence. Natural gas will play a vital role in meeting that demand, but the state currently faces supply constraints caused by limited interstate pipeline capacity.

Tallgrass’ natural gas infrastructure project will provide the fuel to Invenergy’s facilities. This deliberate design will produce power dedicated to support advanced manufacturing and next generation technologies.
